Twenty-nine years ago, Anna and Leon from Inti Knitwear got to know Ecuador.
Today entire villages work for them: more than 700 women knit the garments designed by Anna.
The women who make the garments live in fairly remote villages.
Their husbands often work in the cities and are away during the week; the children are at school.
Working on these garments gives the women a sense of purpose and, very importantly, their own source of income.
They are completely free to plan their workload based on their needs and wants.
Each knitter receives a small portion of the exclusive wool for their own use, the rest is carefully weighed and processed into garments.
This has already resulted in some very vibrant communities of women exchanging instructions, experiences and techniques.
Some have been knitting for Inti Knitwear for over twenty years. That is very special and, in our opinion, a great way of sustainable entrepreneurship.
Inti Knitwear garments are
all made by hand. That is why (small) differences in shape, finish and coloring belong to the characteristics and should not be understood as defects. Treat it with a lot of love, follow the washing instructions carefully and you will be able to enjoy the item for a long time.
With every item you feel the care, dedication, expertise and also the passion.
Inti Knitwear has an eco-friendly, sustainable and refined policy and treats nature, culture and people with respect.
