What MHOOM is about

sustainable - fair - beautiful
personal attention
do what feels right

We, Colette de Groot and Sanne Spaargaren from MHOOM enjoy making people happy with beautiful hair and products.
In our store you will only find brands that are made with respect for people, animals and nature and special attention to form and quality.
The basic principles for our store and our brands are: sustainable - fair - beautiful.
Simply because we think there is no other way.

... Met Het Oog Op Morgen!

Our choices

At MHOOM we try to make our choices as responsible and well-considered as possible.
All clothing you can buy from us is "sustainable": for us that means made with respect for people, animals and the environment.
Of course, this also applies to our hair products, and in fact to all other items that we sell, use and serve.

But why actually?
Not because it has gotten more attention these days (how fortunately!), no, we have been working with sustainable clothing and environmentally friendly hair products for more than 10 years, from the start.
Because we really like that, and we also think that there is no other way.

As far as we are concerned, you can only really wear a piece of clothing with pride if you know that it is made with respect for people, animals and the environment. Made from as much natural and environmentally friendly fabric as possible, preferably organic, you see the quality, but you also feel it, which is nice because you wear it against your skin.

This also applies to a large extent to hair care products and make-up. Your skin comes into close contact with these products, so you want it to be a nice, good product. Without toxic substances, and of course without microplastics, what a bizarre invention that is!!

These are of course the most important choices that we (try to) make.
But there is more. :)

We wash your hair with the Showerhead from Ecoheads: a water-saving tap.
The electricity and gas we use is green from Greenchoice, our lighting is 100% LED, we bank - from the very beginning - with Triodos.
Our delicious coffee is fair trade and organic from Illimani, we serve organic tea from BioThee and herbal tea from Wilder-Land, and we have various lemonades from LemonAid. These contain only natural ingredients.
Do you fancy a nice cappuccino or a tea? Then you get a delicious Holynut "gebakje" - gluten-free, sugar-free, organic and vegan!

Have you ordered something in our webshop? Environmental friendliness is very important to us, which is why we try to send our packages as carefully and environmentally friendly as possible. All the packaging material we use (the box, the wrapping paper) is recycled (we never buy new) and we select the smallest possible box to take up as little space as possible during transport.

Where do we get those delicious cookies?

In addition to the delicious pastry from Holynut (gluten-free, sugar-free, organic and vegan), you will also sometimes get delicious gingerbread madeleines.
If you have tasted one, you can really only think of one thing: where do they come from?
Well: from our own kitchen! And now from yours too :)

Tineke's "gingerbread" recipe
(gluten free, sugar free, vegan)

Necessities
6 medjoul dates (without stone)
1 banana (well riped)
125 gr. almond flour
125 gr. buckwheat flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. biscuit and gingerbread spices
2 tsp. cinnamon
125 gr. maple syrup or honey
50 gr. coconut oil
150 ml. vegetable milk (e.g. rice or oats)
pinch of salt

Preparation
Grind the dates together with the banana in your food processor or with your hand blender into a paste.
Place all ingredients except the milk in a bowl and stir to combine.
Slowly heat the coconut oil with the honey in a pan.
Little by little, add the milk into a cake-like batter, making sure it doesn't become too runny.

You can make small cookies (like we do, we use a madeleine mold), but of course you can also make one big cake. Whatever you want! Then be sure to adjust the baking time.

Heat the oven to 160 degrees.
If you are making a cake, allow a baking time of about 35 to 40 minutes.
Our madeleines are in the oven for about 12 minutes.

Our webshop and environmental friendliness

Being environmentally friendly is very important to us, which is why we try to send our parcels as carefully and environmentally friendly as possible.
All our packaging material (the box, the wrapping paper) is reused and we select the smallest possible box to take up as little space as possible during transport.
